Ensembles and Performances
A native of Sacramento, Paul David Terry is equally at home performing opera, musical theater, chamber choir, and symphonic percussion. A graduate of University of California, Davis, Paul performed with a variety of ensembles including chorus, orchestra, chamber singers, opera, and musical theater. After graduation, Paul moved to San Diego and continued to perform with the San Diego Symphony and San Diego Opera Chorus (Boris Godunov, Samson et Dalila, Tannhauser, Cavalleria Rusticana, I Pagliacci, Berlioz Requiem, Porgy & Bess, Casey at the Bat, and Handel's Messiah).
Paul co-founded Musica Vitale, the chamber choir that uses up to 16 members to perform works such as the Rachmaninov’s Vespers and Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, Thompson’s Frostiana, and chamber works by Arensky, Poulenc, Ives, Respighi, and Britten. Additionally, Paul played percussion with the La Jolla Symphony, served as the first staff director of the UC San Diego Pepband, and was the bass soloist and section leader for Sacred Heart Cathedral of Coronado, California from 2002 - 2008. He currently sings with the Sacramento Opera Chorus and UC Davis Alumni Chorus, co-manages the Burlesque Band of San Francisco, and plays bass ukulele with the Morse Quintet .
